Educational data mining to identify the relationship between IQ, learning styles, emotional intelligence and multiple intelligences of engineering students
Abstract:
The aim of this work is to identify through the educational data mining (EDM), the relationship that exists between the intellectual quotient (IQ), learning styles (LS), emotional intelligence (EI) and multiple intelligences (MI) of 282 engineering university students, which will be an objective instrument for decision-making in the educational context. The research was exploratory and descriptive. The exploratory investigation allowed the approach to the phenomenon object of study, however, the descriptive investigation by means of the EDM allowed to identify the relationship between the IQ, MI, EI and LS. The population studied has a normal IQ (mean = 108.7), and it is also found that verbal MI (79.1%) and visual spatial MI (64.2%) must be developed or enhanced, while mathematical logical MI (64.9%) predominates. In addition, the IE clarity (46.5%) in conjunction with the active-reflexive EA (68.8%) stand out in the study group.
