Afrobeat desde la raíz: producción de tres temas inéditos basados en la exploración sonora del género afrobeat de la última década
Abstract:
Afrobeat has been minimally explored in the Ecuadorian national musical scene and even in the regional one. Its little diffusion and exploration are due to an emergence as a protest genre that tried to be silenced in its time and because it was born in the African continent, the resources for its diffusion were reduced. Despite the adverse circumstances in which this style arises, it carries many surprises: its fusion nature of diverse genres makes its sound richness incbkp_redibly nutritious and educational. It offers both musicians and producers a new range of timbre and sound possibilities for their creative processes. The present project was carried out in order to develop a guide for the current producer, which allows him to efficiently and effectively reach the sonority of the afrobeat genre at the hand of several musical technical tools developed and standardized for the style. The present project was carried out in order to develop a guide for the current producer, which allows him to efficiently and effectively reach the sonority of the afrobeat genre at the hand of several musical technical tools developed and standardized for the style. Through the analysis of three afrobeat themes of the last decade, a standardized approach was created to address the criteria of preproduction, production, recording and mixing of the style. From the hand of comparative analysis, a standard mix table was emitted, based on the mix tables of each theme analyzed, getting to merge the fundamental characteristics and similarities of the three themes. Subsequently, through experimentation and application of this standard mix, three previously unreleased themes were mixed. The present work was developed within the emphasis of Production and it was obtained three phonograms, as well as a standardized mixing chart for those who wish to enrich their creations from another stylistic approach and for future generations who want to venture into the effective production of this style.
