Efectos de la aplicación de microorganismos fijadores de nitrógeno, complementarios a la fertilización química en una plantación de Café variedad Caturra Rojo en la zona de Babahoyo
Abstract:
In Ecuador coffee cultivation according to data recorded by COFENAC, seeded in 23 of the 24 existing provinces, approximately 199,215 hectares, of which 136,385 hectares are Arabic coffee and Robusta 62,830 hectares, being the most important provinces: Los Rios, Manabí, Loja, El Oro and the Amazonian provinces. The average current yield is 5.1 quintals of coffee per hectare for Arabic and 5.5 pounds of green coffee per hectare for Robusta. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effects of nitrogen-fixing microorganisms, complementary chemical fertilization in a coffee plantation, red Caturra variety; to evaluate its effect on performance. The work was performed at the site of the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Babahoyo, located at Km. 7.5 via Montalvo. 10 treatments and three replications was used in plots of 25 plants, which were distributed in a completely randomized design blocks
