Efectos del covid-19 en el sector turístico hotelero de la ciudad de Guayaquil. Periodo 2015-2021.

Abstract:

The present research work has as a priority to analyze the effects of the measures adopted by the Cantonal and National COE, in order to combat contagion in the citizens of the covid-19 pandemic and that had serious consequences in the hotel sector in the city of Guayaquil, in a comparative analysis in the period 2015-2021. We proceeded to observe the various bulletins that they present: the Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), institutions in charge of reporting on migration statistics, and that this research shows that the hotel sector was affected, causing the unemployment rate to increase, among other variables that affected the sector prior to the health crisis, in addition, information was obtained from primary sources, through a survey of human talent management directors of luxury hotels. The results of the investigation show that the measures ordered by the national and cantonal COE due to the covid-19 pandemic, affected the tourism balance of Ecuador, caused by the reduction of the entry of national and foreign visitors to the country, among others. After the data analyzed and the proposed objectives, it is concluded that one of the sectors with the greatest impact is the hotel sector, since its scenario is not very encouraging and has caused great labor and economic losses.
