Effect of Bovine Somatotropin (bST) and timed artificial insemination (doublesynch) on pregnancy rates in lactating dairy cows at first service.
Abstract:
Conclusions: These findings may suggest that the immediate transient post-PGF increase in progesterone can be associated with an increase in luteal blood flow. Luteolysis, as indicated by decreasing progesterone, began well before the beginning of a decrease in luteal blood flow. Furthermore Colour Doppler ultrasonography may be used to estimate the luteal tissue response to luteolytic treatment. This method of imaging can also provide development of differential diagnosis of follicular and luteal ovarian cysts.
