Effect of green manures with different tillage systems on soil quality indicators

Abstract:

The use of plants as green manures influences the recovery and preservation of soil quality and provides nutrients, for proper fertilization of crops. The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the effect of green manure of bean, associated with millet and combined with soil management in conventional tillage and direct sowing on chemical and biological indicators of a the microbial biomass, basal respiration, metabolic ratio and the total enzymatic activity) variables were evaluated. Direct sowing associated with millet and the use of green bean manure had a positive effect on the biological and chemical indicators of the soil, presenting the best content of nutrients, the highest content of carbon and nitrogen of the microbial biomass and the relationship direct sowing associated with millet and the use of green bean manure had a positive effect on the biological and chemical indicators of the soil, presenting the best content of nutrients, the highest content of carbon and nitrogen of the microbial biomass and the lower metabolic ratio than the other treatments, only being surpassed by the natural soil. Direct sowing showed the best results of total enzymatic activity and the metabolic ratio, being the most efficient system.
