Effect of organic fertilizers on the response of tomato (Solanum Lycopersicum L.)

Abstract:

Organic fertilizer applications provide adequate fertilization to crop besides preserving the soils properties. The aim of this research was to evaluate effects of organic fertilizers, worm humus, water hyacinth compost (Eichhornia crassipes) and the 50% worm humus + 50% water hyacinth combination and a control treatment with conventional chemical fertilization in the yield and its components of tomato crop (Solanum lycopersicum L.). The fruit quantity·harvest-1 was evaluated along to the fruit diameter and biomass per harvest and the yields. The results show that plants supplied with worm humus + water hyacinth had significant differences with respect to the other treatments. Although the 50% worm humus + 50% water hyacinth combination had better result than organic fertilizers alone and chemical fertilizer treatment.
