Effect of the quitomax® on yield of rice cultivo (Oryza sativa, l.) var. j-104

Abstract:

Currently in agriculture, the search for products that favor the growth and development of crops, as well as the increase in their yield such as rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a cause of work. In addition, these compounds are of natural origin, biodegradable, biocompatible, have a low cost and do not cause damage to the environment. This is the case of chitosan that has been shown to have a high biological activity on different crops. It allows to reduce the applications of chemical pesticides, increases yields and the combined application with biofertilizers benefits nitrogen fixation processes and growth in legumes. That is why this work aims to evaluate the effect of the Quitomax® bioproduct, whose active ingbkp_redient is chitosan, on the final height of the plant and the yield components of the J-104 rice crop at different times and forms of application. For this, the seeds were treated for 15 minutes, at a concentration of 1000 mg.L-1 and foliar sprays at a dose of 360 mg.L-1 at 25 and 60 ddg. The data obtained were subjected to an analysis of variance of simple classification and the means were compared by the 5% Tukey multiple range test, where the results showed a better response of the crop when the seeds were treated for 15 minutes and the plant received the two foliar applications of Quitomax ®.
