Abstract:
Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) constitutes a public health problem and a great challenge for developing countries and more so in countries where stigma and discrimination still persist. A methodology with a qualitative and quantitative, descriptive and explanatory approach was used. For data collection, the survey with a questionnaire format was used. The sample consisted of thirty people in total: four patients diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis, plus twenty-six people classified as direct contact. According to the most relevant results obtained from the surveys carried out, it is deciphered that 75% of people know the effectiveness of the treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis, while 25% do not know its effectiveness.
