Eficacia de nutrición enteral temprana en relación a nutrición enteral tardía en apendicectomías en fases no complicadas en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso
Abstract:
Introduction: Enteral nutrition is an effective method for nutritional support in patients during their postoperative period. After abdominal surgery occurs a transient state of intestinal ileus due to failure in the normal propulsive activity of the digestive tract, which does not imply severity and resolves spontaneously within a few days depending on the type of surgery. The majority of surgeons consider the use of this track once it has been restored this function. However, it is demonstrated that the recovery absorptive function of the small intestine occurs a few hours after the surgical procedure, by which it is possible to start diets chemically made early. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of early enteral nutrition in relation to the delayed Enteral Nutrition in appendectomies in late phases not complicated in the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Material and methods: We carried out a randomized controlled trial simple blind, with Hospitalized appendectomies patients in the Vincente Corral Moscoso. They were divided into two groups, the first was administered early enteral nutrition with a volume of 300 ml at 6 hours post operative in a period of 6 hours; and a second group that was administered late enteral nutrition 300 ml at 6 p.m. the post operative Results: There were no statistically significant differences in the averages of the abdominal perimeter at 2, 4, 6 hours and the hospital discharge, p-value >0.05. There were no differences in the frequency of undesirable effects on the groups that received enteral nutrition and early enteral nutrition late, p>0.05. The average length of hospital stay in the group that received early feeding is 14 hours and in the group that received delayed feeding is 25 hours, p=0.000. Conclusions: the early enteral nutrition is safe and effective for the nutritional support of patients subjected to appendectomies, with less length of hospital stay
