El Derecho a la Vivienda Digna y Adecuada en Ecuador, caso de estudio: población refugiada del barrio “Las Tolas” de Quito, durante el período enero 2010-marzo 2014

Abstract:

The main objective of the follow research is to determine “The right to adequate housing” of refugees in Ecuador. To do this it will be necessary to use national and international legal instruments that should provide the meaning, terms and conditions corresponding to the guarantee of right to "Adequate Housing". After that, the various programs implemented by the Ecuadorian State in its legal framework that guarantee the right to housing for refugees in Ecuador will be detailed. Finally, a case of study has been taken to statistically analyze the sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the refugee population in a suburb of Quito called “Las Tolas” this in order to perform an investigation process of which are the actual conditions of living of this group of people and to evidence what is needed or, in turn, if nothing is needed, to ensure the right to "Adequate Housing". Research will be performed through the method of literature review, also to obtain of information through official websites of different institutions and in addition, interviews will be conducted, finally the refugee population of the suburb "Las Tolas" will be surveyed. The expected outcome is to determine the current condition of life, in terms of adequate housing, of refugees in "Las Tolas" and get to know the scope (reach) that the programs promoted by the Government has to this population.
