El Déficit Fiscal y sus repercusiones en la Balanza de Pagos del Ecuador periodo 2007 – 2017


Abstract:

The research analyzes the repercussions of the fiscal deficit on the balance of payments of Ecuador during the period 2007 - 2017, the fiscal deficit was derived from the imbalance of the central government budget due to excessive public spending and the fall in the price of oil, affecting the trade balance , income and capital and financial account, the type of research used was descriptive, the quantitative research approach was analyzed because data series and relationships between the variables of the fiscal deficit and the balance of payments were analyzed, in addition to the fact that the modality was documentary using sources From data provided by the Central Bank of Ecuador, the main conclusion is that the fiscal deficit has increased and caused the government to seek external financing to be able to cover the expenditure that it carried up to 2017, the balance of the trade balance is completely related to the fiscal deficit by increasing or decreasing spending and imports, fiscal indiscipline al has had a negative impact on the indicators of the income balance and capital and financial account since in most years the country was a net importer of capital and interest on debt, the income paid being higher than the income received.
