Aislamiento y caracterización de actinomicetos recolectados en ambientes marinos y su potencial antimicrobiano

Abstract:

Actinomycetes are of great interest for their metabolic and physiological capabilities that have generated new chemical with pharmacological potential. Actinomycetes were isolated from marine sediment samples collected at 1-10 meters deep in the Province El Oro, Southern Region of Ecuador. The use of selective medium; agar-medium A1, YMA, Gauze acid, CTG and AH with the addition of 1% of antibiotics antifungals, allowed us to obtain bacterial strains that were subjected to morphological and molecular characterization, the extraction of secondary metabolites and the evaluation of their antimicrobial activities. We isolated a total of 14 strains of Actinomycetes (PBLC); morphological characterization was based on the macro and microscopic features referenced by Goodfellow et al, (2006). Analysis of the partial 16S rDNA region revealed the presence of strains belonging to the genus Streptomyces and Micromonospora. In the biological evaluation, PBLC 05 presented inhibitory activity of 500µg/ml against Enterococcus faecalis and 250µg/ml against Staphylococcus aureus. The rest of extracts had no antibacterial effects. Moreover, four actinomycetes (28.5%) showed antifungal activity against Trichophyton mentagrophytes (Tm) and three (21.42%) against Trichophyton rubrum (Tr).
