El Papel de los Laicos en la Experiencia de la Iglesia Primitiva

Abstract:

This article seeks to identify the experience of faith and the following of Jesus of the first Christians who, from their lay condition, generated a movement that transcended in history. Through a critical historical analysis, an approach is made to the life of the first Christian communities formed by lay people and whose protagonism is made visible in a lifestyle characterized by communion, ministeriality, interculturality, prophethood and martyrdom; a lifestyle that is complemented by the leading role of women and that without their presence, primitive Christianity cannot be understood. This fontal look allows us to discover, in short, that in the heart of the primitive Church there are valuable elements for a re-signification and re-launching of the laity in the current context from an approach of participation, co-responsibility and shared mission.
