El Síndrome de Burnout en los Docentes de la Carrera de Contabilidad y Auditoría en Época del Coronavirus
Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a survey of teachers of Accounting and Auditing at the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador in its three campuses: Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca. Indicators of work stress are presented, due to the change from face-to-face teaching methodology to online learning. The research is descriptive, using a Maslach Burnout Inventory Questionnaire (MBI), with a quantitative approach. There is a frequency for the different categories presented by the teachers, concurring to data on their behaviors, emotions, feelings and thoughts; where the respondent chooses among the questions posed and is assigned the corresponding rating for each answer. The sociodemographic characteristics are described: gender, age, marital status, time worked, as well as other activity performed by the surveyed professionals; and finally the teachers themselves establish strategies that can reduce work stress in times of pandemic.
