El cuidado mediante el uso de las nuevas tecnologías, una expectativa para enfermería del siglo XXI

Abstract:

Describe care through the use of new technologies, in accordance with the expectations for nurses of the XXI century. Methods: Qualitative research of a phenomenological type; applied through open interviews with 5 subjects chosen at convenience, who had time, will and had enough experience to answer the interviews, belonging to the nursing staff. Results: It was obtained that the nursing professionals expressed the need to update their knowledge about care with new technologies, to improve the mastery of these devices, in search of strengthening their analytical and decision-making capacity, to improve treatments and the quality of care, despite the risks of dehumanization, indifference and indolence, which can reduce the nurse's empathy, these results being associated with the beginner-to-expert theories of Patricia Benner, and the bureaucratic theories of Marylin Anne Ray. Conclusion: that the nursing professional needs to update their knowledge in the handling of digital devices and control the risk of dehumanization, to enhance the quality of nursing care.
