El desempleo juvenil en Ecuador año 2017: Causas y sus posibles soluciones

Abstract:

The present work analyzes youth unemployment in Ecuador in 2017 and aims to present information about its evolution in this year taking as a main source of information the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Sub-employment (ENEMDU) through a descriptive analysis. Through this research it was possible to analyze the factors that affect on this group so that they can not find a quality job and that have an impact on the unemployment rate. The data show that the proportion of young people in the segment from 15 to 24 years old unemployed nationwide reaches 40% of the EAP (Economically Active Population) which is significantly high compared to the level of unemployment of the adult population. The main government policies that have been implemented to fight against this social problem are analyzed, observing that unemployment has decreased by 9% and that the variable employment had an improvement of 6% in the year 2017.
