El espacio colectivo como elemento de conexión entre vivienda y ciudad

Abstract:

The collective space, as a connection element between dwelling and city addresses life quality from an urban perspective. It is important to understand the collective space, as the principal link between public and private areas, is the key to generate city itself. Boundaries and depths define spatial categories, which belong to the city’s collective life. In order to obtain the necessary guidelines and criteria to design a dwelling project linked to the city, we have proceeded with the following steps: In the first place, we intend to understand the essence of some urban and living concepts such as city, public space, private space, common space, collective space, and collective dwelling. In second place, we develop twelve case studies that allows us to evaluate some project materials, through the proposal of previous rating parameters, defined for the best interest of this investigation. As a third point, and the most important, the proposal of guidelines and criteria for the approach of housing projects. Finally, through an architectural draft, we will proof the applicability of the proposed guidelines, showing the collective space as the axis of the proposal, and the spatial link between the public and private.
