El gobierno de Sixto Duran Ballen y su aporte en la política exterior del Ecuador

Abstract:

The present investigation carries the analysis of the foreign policy carried out during the Government of Sixto Durán Ballén on the situation of tension and finally of conflict with Peru during the War of Cenepa in 1995, the review of the events, the agreements of relevance, the presidential decisions executed in the pursuit of peace, the analysis of his political, social and economic actions and the personal qualities of the protagonist of this historic event. The analysis of this project is carried out through the current perception of this historical event through surveys carried on university students and interviews with experts in order to obtain an overview of the subject and to be able to highlight the fundamental aspects so they can be applied in future situations. This analysis proposes to establish a scheme or model of political strategies that can be applied or taken into account at the time of a similar situation of national or international conflict in order to find a solution, highlighting the importance of the personal, academic and professional qualities that must owned by the president of a country.
