El reciclaje en Loja

Abstract:

Loja is considered a pioneer city on recycling matters. This happens because of the good results of the Solid Waste Management Program that has been working for ten years and has become an example for several municipalities, in Ecuador as well as overseas. This thesis has been made with the objective of generating deep research into the effectiveness of the functioning of recycling in Loja and its application within the city, as well as exposing the results of this process by means of a documentary video, so that the spectator will have a real choice of taking conscience based on real results. This documentary video shows what the objectives required in the thesis in a clear and precise way. The development of the documentary in all of its phases can be seen as well as the good will of the citizens of Loja who work hard on maintaining the recycling process. Currently the special treatment for bio-hazardous waste is being adapted, and there are plans for a future implementation of the recycling of technologic waste such as computers, cell phones, calculator machines among others. In conclusion, each of the objectives defined at the beginning of this work were achieved as it is shown in the poll results. Based on this results it is safe to assume that the main goal of this thesis was successfully accomplished because the message of this documentary film was received in a precise and clear way, showing how recycling began in Loja and the way it works as well as the key to its success, which is a proper household classification of waste. This documentary accomplished its goal of causing the spectator to generate an expectation of starting simmilar projects for the preservation of the environment.
