Abstract:

During the pre-professional practices, it was observed that the pre-school teachers use the textbooks differently within the class. At times, such use limits the teachers' ability to be creative, given that they only make use of the activities given in school textbooks. Another aspect that affects their use is the fact that school textbooks are seen as a commercial given, given the financial interests of the publishers. As a result, teachers simply provide students the information needed to fill out the workbook, and the parents are satisfied. For this reason, the following case study analyzes the impact of the textbook "Mis Primeros Desempeños" in classroom planning in the pre-school Educational Unit "Cumbres del Saber". The elements that were taken into account for the study include direct classroom observation, teacher planning, charts, interviews and the field diary, with the aim of illuminating the role that the school text plays at that educational level.
