Abstract:

America" 1, which focuses on the study of South American energy integration, and is included in the Union of South American Nations (USAN2). Despite this proposal was recently born (in 2007), and therefore it has a short historical trajectory-with instruments still being built-, whose scope is wrapped in the USAN. In any case, the first purpose of this work is to analyze its current situation, and its viability under the complex model described by USAN. As is generally known, previous regional experiences have not been successful in reaching deeper stages of integration. However, the concepts of holistic integration that emerge from this process are novel and attractive to achieve broad benefits in all sectors of the subcontinent3.
