Alternatives of Development of SINEA Project in VSC-HVDC


Abstract:

The development of electrical interconnections over the Andean Community Nations (CAN) have been one of the energies, economic and social development proposals that could not be concluded in reason of different constraints most of them technical and economic. The most important technical constraints are the deficient reactive power supply between AC transmission grids, the synchronism, distances between possible substations, maximum power transfer and the lines over natural reserves. The maturity of HVDC technology will work over the different AC and HVAC constraints. The purpose of this paper is to develop an alternative of VSC-HVDC interconnections between the CAN countries developing the SINEA project in reduced national transmission grid.
