Emerging etiology versus prophylaxis of gender-based violence against women in Ecuador on the occasion of the latest criminal code of 2018
Abstract:
This cross-sectional study examined the emerging etiology of gender-based violence, made up of three basic components: action plus product plus result. Two categories of judicially prosecuted cases were compared. Of 1,284 complaints during the year 2017, 88% were resolved. A psychometric test was used to evaluate Raven's progressive matrices for anonymous victims. All the victims presented alterations in the cognitive order. They represent significant historical factors on crime. The results prescribe roles with an emphasis on low schooling, interpersonal conflicts, psychological vulnerability, real or apparent physical, the aggressor's mastery towards the victim, directly affect the behavior of the commissary.
