Emotional interaction of blind people using artificial vision

Abstract:

The implementation of an electronic device of artificial vision was done that allows recognizing emotional features of the face and transforming them to vibration signals for people with visual disabilities, so they can interact in a real-time conversation facilitating non-verbal emotional expressions. The device consists of a computer vision cap that can detect a person's face, his neutral state, his smile expression and his expression of surprise; for this a collection of approximately 2600 images of 105 people was made for training their several expressions. The tests carried out on the device were aimed at measuring the recognition efficiency with respect to different variables.
