Emotions as pbkp_redictors of forgiveness in the context of violation of human rights in Chile

Abstract:

Data was taken from a sample of people that were/were not affected by political violence in Chile (N=1267) in order to study the pbkp_redictive ability of emotions on beliefs about forgiveness. The multiple regression analysis conducted indicates that the effect of assessed emotions, even if statistically significant, is of little relevance for the general sample (R2=0.05). With direct victims the regression coefficient was higher than for the other groups (R2=0.11), Emotions that are the top contributors to the explanation are wrath (b=-30), pain (b=0.26) and hope (b=0.20), pbkp_redict that lower levels of wrath and higher levels of pain and hope, will increase the level of agreement in victims of political violence to forgive those that hurt them in the past.
