Enabling an automation architecture of CPPs based on UML combined with IEC-61499
Abstract:
Today's industry needs to improve the day-to-day control and industrial communications of its processes, which brings it closer to the Industry 4.0 paradigm. To achieve this goal, the IEC-61499 standard is considered as a first step towards the development of agile and intelligent manufacturing systems where distribution, interoperability and re-configuration are the fundamental requirements. However, this standard has many problems as it does not have software tools that are required for an effective design process for distributed control systems. The work presented below details the use of UML diagrams for the implementation of the IEC-61499 standard in low-cost devices that use embedded operating systems for the distributed control of a FESTO MPS 200 system. It is verified that using this type of Diagrams you can create distributed systems in a simple and easy way.
