Encapsulation technology and its application in veterinary medicine.

Abstract:

Microencapsulation is a technology of coating solids, liquids or gases which fail to protect active materials, direct them to specific sites in a controlled release manner, and transform the state for better incorporation in different matrices. Encapsulation can obtain various types of preparations such as liposomes, microparticles or nanoparticles, spheres, and mainly matrices. Among the coating materials used as biopolymers are polysaccharides, proteins, hydrophobic compounds, and artificial polymers. This technique is revolutionizing in different areas, and in veterinary medicine, research is mainly focused on animal nutrition, diagnosis, management, therapeutics, vaccine development, and reproduction.
