Energy efficiency improvement in the production process of a plywood company


Abstract:

Based on 1 m3 of product, energy consumptions of 2.56 MWh(TH) and 0.14 MWh(e) were obtained, representing 94.8% of thermal and 5.2% of electrical demands. The implementation of the proposed actions to improve energy efficiency would mean annual reductions of 12.4% in thermal consumption and 11.8% in electricity with the consequent 13.4% reduction in CO2 emissions and with an estimated time of return of the total investment of 1.3 years.
