Enhancing a requirements specification method with a vocabulary acquisition tool
Abstract:
This work is based on the idea of vocabulary acquisition to support the building of requirements specifications avoiding the inconsistent or ambiguous use of terminology during the requirements engineering phase. While the idea of vocabulary acquisition seems very straightforward, currently it is not well supported by requirements engineering methods and tools. In this paper, we present the definition of a Dictionary Tool to manage terms of the problem domain in order to help analysts in the process of requirements specification. The dictionary is implemented as a stand alone application and as a component that was used to enhance the functionality of the OO-Method Requirements specification Tool (R ETO).
