Environmental and energy aspects of social housing


Abstract:

Social housing is the space where families live, it stands outmainly for the construction area, it attracts world attention for its habitability characteristics. The main objective of this research was to analyze the environmental and energy aspects of social housing, through a review of technical documents that emphasize national and world experiences, about environmental and energy considerations of this type of housing. This analysis leads to present environment-friendly proposals; furthermore, the proposals are feasible to apply in the homes of our city for improving the quality of life of its occupants. It was determined that households are responsible for significant greenhouse gas emissions due to the use of conventional electrical energy, inadequate treatment of solid waste and sewage, which affects the health of the family. It is suggested to consider renewable energy sources, in the design of the house include spaces to treat and take advantage of waste through biological techniques, wastewater must be properly disposed and treated to avoid the presence of vectors and diseases.
