Environmental education through comics and internet applications. A case study in high school

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to improve students attitude towards Environmental Education with the help of comics and internet applications. In this context, students of 2nd grade of High school (ages 13-14) participated in a project, in which they had created and presented comics strips with environmental content. The tools used to implement the project were internet sites, friendly and familiar to students, as well as comics books, considered as popular and attractive readings. At the beginning and the end of the project questionnaires were given to the students who participated in the survey. It was found that the use of comics and the internet for the construction of stories improved environmental attitudes of students towards Environmental Education.
