Epidural fentanyl

Abstract:

Background and objectives: There are controversies about the site of analgesic effect after epidural administration of fentanyl. If the effect occurs in the spinal cord, we can obtain analgesia with reduction in systemic syde effects. Contents: This revision is about the beginning of the use of spinal opioids, anatomophysiological considerations, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of epidural fentanyl.
