Equation of Knowledge and Aerospace Capacity of the Ecuadorian Air Force
Abstract:
The objective of this investigation is to design the Research, Development, and Innovation (R + D + i) strategies of the Aerospace Development Directorate (DIRDAE) to align itself with the strengthening of the capacities of the Ecuadorian Air Force (FAE). The methodology used has a mixed approach by integrating and systematizing quantitative and qualitative methods, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. For data processing, the SPSS statistical program was used and its analysis was carried out through the combination of the multivariate statistical, optimal, and scaling technique as well as the descriptive one through the central tendency measures. In relation to the diagnosis of organizational culture, the Competency Values Model (CVM) was applied. The results obtained show that the established processes designed by FAE partially integrate the activities of social work, development, as well as innovation, and with a lesser weighting the research and transfer aspects. Besides, an analysis of the strategic alignment matrix was carried out, in which the development component is positioned in first place, and the low weighting of research is confirmed. FAE presents a predominance in the hierarchical and adhocratic culture. The results allowed to develop strategies for the Aerospace Technological Development System focused on three stages: the strengthening of the system focused on sustainability, the reorientation focused on contributing to modernization, and finally, the renovation in order to have FAE to go beyond into the future.
