An analysis on the suitability of selected newspaper material as a teaching resource in efl courses

Abstract:

Nowadays, in foreign language teaching, reading is a very important skill. Besides, reading is a complex cognitive process in which reader and text interact to create meaningful discourse. So, reading activities are valuable for language acquisition. Therefore, the aim of this research project is to develop certain language skills such as grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension by using selected newspaper material. Besides, this research project offers students the opportunity to achieve the bachelor‘s degree in teaching English as a foreign language.
