An augmented reality platform for training in the industrial context

Abstract:

Augmented Reality (AR) is considered within the Internet of Things (IIoT) goals as a training tool because it provides virtual experiences that are impossible in a real environment, giving to the employee safety on equipment operation and low-cost of training. For this reason, this research presents an AR system that allows users to train in the calibration of HART instrumentation, using the Unity 3D platform and Meta 2 glasses. This application offers a platform that has advantages for users since it can train in the operation of expensive industrial equipment in an error-prone system. The validation of the system was carried out through an evaluation module, which allows the user to determine the level of training and autonomously build their own learning, obtaining positive responses that show that around 82% of the population evaluated.
