Estudio comparativo entre la distalización de caninos con cadena elastomérica y retroligadura metálica activa en la incidencia de la reabsorción radicular durante el tratamiento activo de ortodoncia en pacientes con extracciones de premolares.

Abstract:

The post orthodontic root resorption, is considered a controlled effect until 2mm, measures previously established by using effective methods of diagnosis; this research involves a comparison between two different mechanicals to distal movement of the canines from collecting the length of the tooth at the beginning, until the end of distal movement of the canine The objective of this research was to determine whether they affect the increase or decrease of the root resorption of distalized canines. For this study was took a sample of 14 patients of different age and sex treated with premolar extractions, they were grouped in two groups, 50% was used TAC for analysis and the remaining 50% with digital panoramic radiographs before and after the distal movement of the canines. Within both groups, each subdivided in 4 cases for analysis of distalization with elastomeric chain and 3 cases for analysis of distalization with lace back; the study shows a higher degree of root resorption after distalization with lace back, on average the distalized canines with lace back were reabsorbed 1.9mm while distalized canines with elastomeric chain reabsorbed 1.7mm.In conclusion the use of lace back at the distal movement of the canines increases the risk of root resorption. Keywords: root resorption, Distalization canine, retroligadura, elastomeric chain.
