Estudio de los efectos de la protección del racimo de banano musa sapientum

Abstract:

In the parish Buenavista, in the farm "Hermanos Pintado" it was studied the effects of the protection of the banana cluster and their quality. The outlined objectives were: 1. to determine the protection effectiveness with the employment of three types of bag perforations; 2. to investigate which gives us the effect wanted as for quality and protection of the two densities of bags used. And 3 to establish if it produces improvements of the hands of the banana cluster with the use of Daipas or without them. The studied factors were: density of the bags (high and low), perforations (big holes, zamorano and Pinhole); Daipas (with or without them); being an trifactorial experiment 2 x 3 x 2, with 12 treatments, the field according to a design completely randomized in five replications consistent in the color of the tape. The placement of the bags were carried out in recently emerged acorns and the placement of the Daipas when the clusters reached 5 weeks of age. The experimental unit consisted on three acorns/treatments. The variables evaluated to analyze the treatments and the formulated hypotheses were: Deschive, fail more three. Damage of Coleopteron "Colaspis": in hands and fingers; Cochineal incidence; incidence of Fumagina; presence of other plagues or defects (trips, speckling, yellow tips); days to the harvest; calibration to the moment of the harvest; shrinks in percentage. The statistical analyses of the results evidence that in only 4 of the 9 chosen describers as variables, statistical significance was obtained, these were; Colaspis damages, fumagina, speckling and calibration of the maturation grade. Within the treatments it was not obtained significant differences for perforations, but in bag density and among using or no Daipas. Most of the clusters were healthy in such a way that the damages found generated very high variation index. The tendency of reducing the damages for coleopteron was favorable to the bag of low density and the placement of Daipas.
