Estudio inmunocromatográfico y citológico de moquillo canino en perros de la ciudad de Manta


Abstract:

The present research aims mainly to determine the prevalence of Canine Distemper among domestic dogs in Manta city (Manabi, ECUADOR) throughout Immunochromatography and Conjunctival Citology. The Immunochromatography provided as results a prevalence of 61%, and the Conjunctival Citology resulted in 25%. The most frequently affected dog breed was French Poodle. Classifying by etary groups, the ones between zero and six months old were the most frequently affected. This disease was more frequent in females than males. The most frequent symptom was nervous problems. Out of the 73 dogs diagnosed positive for Canine Distemper throughout Immunochromatography, only 30 were also diagnosed positive to bodies inclussion when the Conjunctival Citoloty methodology was applied for testing. It is recommendable to better utilize the Immunochromatography test; yet, the Conjunctival Citoloty is also advisable to first help diagnosing the Canine Distemper.
