Estudio y delimitación del área de protección del Centro histórico de Pasto

Abstract:

The recommendation about the historical urban landscape to apply in Pasto city, define its conservation and influence areas, benefiting of the prehispanic growth and its spanish foundation, achieving an integration with its republican and contemporary growth, that, altogether makes the identity of the city. This study has started from the importance of the integrality between natural, social, economic, religious, cultural architectonic and urban facts to carry out an entire study of the city’s historical center with the perspective of an unique space with all the particular community aspects inside. Each factor that had intervened in the city which has generate mapping and urban plants showing which places has more patrimony values, such material or, for example, faithful witness streets of the facts. In this way are demarked the Conservation Area, with the material or physical things and of course the immaterial, which conserves the truth essence of San Juan de Pasto city and its inhabitants. Once the principal conservation area were definided, were defined its influence too, being more than a simple urban buffer a conglomerated of patrimonial values in a secondary space which have to be seriously preserved to keep a visual, cultural and architectural unit in the city. This investigation takes importance in its continuity and application when a management and conservation plan be being generated taking in all the essential aspects of the city and this historical landscape study methodology as a cyclical model feeded by the intention to conserve the patrimony and stay at the forefront.
