Evaluación de buenas prácticas ambientales en la actividad acuícola enfocados a la obtención de la certificación Punto verde - MAE


Abstract:

The present investigation project takes place in the shrimp farm “Santa María” (Machala), with the aim of structuring the requirements established on the normative for the Punto Verde – MAE certification, previous certification of Organic Production in the aquaculture activity. The methodology that had been used is an audit based on the guidelines of good environmental practices. The following finding were identified: The personnel that work in the company do not have the adequate personal protection equipment, no safety signage or graphic symbols were observed, it does not have an adequate classification of the waste, and other nonconformities during the management. In the field visit, it was evident that there is no monitoring of the Management Plan. Environmental observations were proposed in the environmental management plan to comply with current environmental legislation: Occupational Health and Safety Plan, Monitoring Plan, Waste Management Plan, Impact Prevention and Mitigation Plan, and implement a Community Relations Program.
