Evaluación de calidad del servicio de medicina física y rehabilitación del Hospital “Dr. Teodoro Maldonado Carbo” de la ciudad de Guayaquil.


Abstract:

At present, early assistance in physical therapy helps to reduce the sequelae caused by certain pathologies. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services through the application of a research instrument to design a plan for improvements in patient satisfaction in the SMFYR area. The applied methodology is based on a quantitative approach. For this purpose, an instrument adapted from the quality of services was applied to the area of physical medicine and rehabilitation of the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo hospital in the city of Guayaquil. The instrument was applied to 388 patients who come to perform their therapies in this institution. The validation of the instrument using Cronbach's alpha was 0.885 and therefore highly adapted to reality. 64% of respondents are not satisfied with the tangible elements of the HTMC such as infrastructure, information obtained from services and equipment to perform the therapies. Therefore, an improvement plan was made with three aspects of improvements and three improvement actions. Also, an organizational chart and functions were elaborated with the help of international manuals. In addition, it is demonstrated that there is a deficit for the latent infrastructure currently in the area of the hospital. Evident satisfaction of the user to have quality care demonstrated by the professionals of the service, where it is made manifest that the academic degree exists. Determining this approach to the latent desire of the department directors to have a modern physiotherapeutic center as a reference entity in the country.
