MOLESTINA MALTA CARLOS JULIO , MSc. ABSTRACT This thesis was developed in the automotive repair work shop of Brodme n S.A. company. It was done through a field research conducted on the facilities of the place mentioned before. This work is focused in the area of Occupational Safety, Health, and Hygiene in order to identify occupational hazards that occur in the automotive repair shop and prevent possible accidents. In this framework different aspects were analyzed to provide solutions once the probl ems were found. For the research, proper tools that led research on the right track were used. The Fine method was used for every work area to identify each risk in each one. The opinion of the manager was considered through a direct interview to learn the ir degree of knowledge in the field of industrial safety and hygiene. Another aspect was to know if they had any notion of the laws and regulations required by the government. The staff completed a survey, and it was evaluated with the Likert scale which i s used to identify the degree of confor mity of employees with the variables considered . In this aspect the causes that created these risks were identified and as a result conclusions and recommendations to improve the work environment to help the automotiv e repair shop to optimize their processes were given
