Evaluación de la calidad de agua tratada de los sectores General Vintimilla y Señor de Flores, de la parroquia Bayas del cantón Azogues
Abstract:
The thesis presented with the title of "EVALUATION OF THE QUALITY OF WATER TREATED IN THE GENERAL VINTIMILLA AND SEÑOR DE FLORES SECTORS OF THE BAYAS PARISH IN THE AZOQUES CANTON” was made during the months of October 2016 to January 2017, where physicochemical parameters were determined such as Color, conductivity, turbidity, pH, nitrites, nitrates, sulfates, residual free chlorine, total hardness, alkalinity, as well as microbiological parameters (total coliforms and fecal coliforms). The main objective of this work is to evaluate the quality of water that is distributed to the households and the previous treatment in the purification plant. It is important to clarify that the path that travels the vital liquid to reach its final destination, the consumer, passes through a distribution network where alterations can occur that can contribute to changes in the water quality. To determine the quality of the water, it was compared with guidelines validated worldwide by the WHO and local standards such as the INEN Standard 1108: 2014, in which are found the reference values of each analysis performed. This study is a Cross-sectional probabilistic descriptive type, in which a stratified sampling was made and the applied statistics were descriptive. Using a statistical program called Minitab, a T-student study of each of the parameters of the two sectors was made. There was no statistically significant variation between Señor de Flores and General Vintimilla sectors in the analyzed parameters. The physical-chemical parameters presented in this study determined that the water that is purified by the Water Management Board of the Bayas parish is within the ranges allowed by the norm NTE INEN 1108, which indicates that the beneficiary of this service has suitable water for human consumption. Microbiological analyzes: total coliforms and fecal coliforms, performed to the samples by the most probable number method, satisfy with the current norm in the country; so no growth of these microorganisms was observed during the two months of practice.
