Analysis of Poverty in Ecuador across TIP curves, 2009-2015

Abstract:

The TIP Curves allows plotting the behavior of poverty based on three indicators: incidence, intensity and inequality among the poor. In this paper, poverty in Ecuador is analyzed at the level of Planning Zones, applying the TIP Curves for the period 2009-2015, with the aim of identifying the zones with TIP dominance, i.e. those are in the worst situations of poverty. The results show three zones with TIP dominance.
