Evaluación de la condición de primeros molares permanentes inferiores en niños, clínica UCSG Semestre B-2019.


Abstract:

Introduction: The first permanent molars are the most important teeth in the final dentition, not because they are the first to erupt, but because of the fundamental role the play in the development and functioning of the permanent molar in the stomatognathic system, the importance of keeping the first permanent molar in the stomatognathic system is because it is the engine that influences the development of that system. Objective: To determine the health condition of lower permanent first molars in children who attend the dental clinic of the UCSG. Materials and Methods: The present cross-sectional study included 103 patients, aged 6 to 11 years. The representatives or tutors consented in writing their inclusion in the present work, the same one that was approved for its realization, by the Academic commission of dental career of the UCSG. Each patient who met the inclusion criteria was examined in the dental chair. Results: According to the degree of involvement, the study showed that pieces #36 and #46 had healthy conditions in 68.33% and 71.67% respectively; regarding the presence of caries the associated with caries indicated that there is no influence on socioeconomic levels, referring to the survey of knowledge of the father with 87.50%, it was shown that if they have an understanding of oral health. Conclusion: The presence of dental caries in the first permanent molar of the children attended was low in the ages of 6 to 11 years, however despite the knowledge of parents about oral health it was not always applied in children therefore it is needed more promotion to help keep children healthy.
