Analysis of Upper CASE tools in software design process

Abstract:

Currently CASE tools are essential in the development of computer systems, this being the primary tool for software engineers, since its application allows the development of computer systems from the simplest to the most complex, producing software quality and greater agility. In this document the Upper CASE tools, used in the process of software design based on the evaluation of its characteristics through the international standard ISO/IEC 9126, which seeks to identify the most appropriate tool for this process is discussed. This research was conducted within the framework of analytical, bibliographic and documentary study, in which a search for pertinent and relevant information from reliable sources was performed. As a result, it has been possible to demonstrate that Enterprise Architect is a comprehensive tool with characteristics such as functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability with them you can get a quality design.
