Evaluación de la extracción de cloruro de calcio empleando la especie marina Anadara tuberculosa de la provincia de Santa Elena

Abstract:

This research is based on the problem of no non-hazardous solid waste generated in Ecuador that up to now has not provided them with sustainable use at environmental and economic levels. In this research, the objective is to apply a methodology to obtain an org inorganic salt such as calcium chloride from the exoskeleton of the Anadara tuberculosa, collected at the Central Seafood Market of the Canton “La Libertad” in the province of Santa Elena. Among its physical parameters, the Anadara tuberculosa or black shell has a variable weight of 6 to 8 grams, and a width of 4 cm on each side. The esenciales known essential chemical parameters is its composition of calcium carbonate forming its hard shell. To perform the calcium chloride extraction, different unit operations were performed such as: cleaning, Whitening, trituration and sieving. The applied methodology to quantify the calcium ion present in the exoskeleton of this species was the analytical complexometry technique. The results of the 4 batches analyzed showed 308.12 mg of calcium ion, and an average yield of 57.73% was obtained. In the analysis check it was performed by atomic absorption showed a concentration of 35.77% calcium and the volumetry showed a result of 62.09% chlorides. By means of the techniques it was demonstrated that it is possible to obtain an inorganic salt widely used in industry, from a solid residue.
