Abstract:

The gender study is of difficult treatment for the discrimination to which it is linked. In the present day, it is suspected that breaches exist among what is legislated and its practice in Ecuador. For this, the main aims of the present article is to analyze the problem related with the equality and non discrimination in the Ecuadorian educational environment. For their development we carried out a study of the case of the Ecuadorian reality and we analyzed the main causes that limit the applicability of the legislation. The study was carried out with 104 Ecuadorian professors selected with simple random sampling, divided in two groups, one of them corresponding to professors of primary level and the other one to middle higher level. To both groups they were asked to fill a questionnaire of 9 questions on this thematic, and the answers of the two groups were compared by means of the test U of Mann-Whitney. We obtained as a result that there was a significant difference between both groups and both of them showed some limitations in this subject. Additionally we obtained mental maps which serve to propagate the knowledge in genre equality in the school framework.
