Evaluación de síndrome de Burnout y los factores de riesgo cardiovascular en los empleados sanitarios del Area de Salud No. 2 Quito, Abril - junio 2012


Abstract:

This is a retrospective study of descriptive and analytic type of cohort with the objective of evaluating the Burnout Syndrome and Cardiovascular risk factors in the health employees in the Health's Area N ° 2 in Quito, between April to June 2012. With a universe of 112 employees, by exclusion criteria entered to study a sample of 105 employees. The methodology of the research was based on responding to the questionnaire of valuation of the Burnout Syndrome (work exhaustion syndrome), Maslach Burnout Inventory HSS and GS validated to the spanish, used to assess the personnel that provides direct patient care and administrative staff respectively, in addition to a questionnaire in relation to sociodemographic stressors. The laboratory personnel collected blood samples for the analysis of pbkp_redictors of cardiovascular risk (glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides) in the laboratory, then performed the respective medical care to assess Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, waist circumference, was assessed by anamnesis lifestyles (tobacco, exercise), personal pathological history related to chronic nontransmisible diseases (NCD). The data obtained were analyzed by the statistical program SPSS software. Significant association was established between Burnout Syndrome and the levels of cholesterol in blood as a cardiovascular risk factor with a chi-square of 6.762 p<0.08. In conclusion the study population is subjected to some cardiovascular risk factors that must be identified in time to avoid developing a Burnout syndrome and its association with coronary heart disease and strokes.
